Responsibilities include leading the household and housekeeping staff, maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, organization, presentation, and service, conducting regular walkthroughs, preparing residences for family and guest arrivals, coordinating guest accommodations, managing household inventories, supplies, schedules, manuals, and expenses, and liaising with vendors and service providers. While much of this role revolves around oversight, you will also be expected to roll up your sleeves and assist with the day-to-day upkeep of the home, handling needs as they arise. The House Manager will also collaborate closely with the estate’s existing property management team on matters that overlap between household and property operations and assist with the planning and execution of private events and gatherings. Additional responsibilities include coordinating seasonal household needs, supporting family travel and arrival/departure preparations, ensuring the residences remain guest-ready, and providing general oversight of the family’s two dogs while they are in residence. The family spends significant time on the property throughout the year, often with extended family and guests, so flexibility and strong hospitality instincts are essential. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in private household management, luxury residential hospitality, five-star resort operations, high-end event management, or a similarly service-focused environment, with demonstrated experience leading and developing housekeeping or household teams. Candidates should be proactive, discreet, highly organized, solutions-oriented, and comfortable making independent decisions while knowing when to communicate or escalate matters to the principals. The general schedule is Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility required when the family or guests are in residence. Occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays may be necessary for events, arrivals, or household needs, while periods when the family is away will generally offer a quieter and more predictable schedule. The family is open to local candidates as well as relocating the right individua, though the House Manager must be ok finding local housing.
