Additional responsibilities include: maintaining the organization of closets, drawers, wardrobes, and other clothing and storage areas, ensuring that all items are properly folded or hung, rotating seasonal wardrobes, monitoring garments for stains, damage, or needed repairs, coordinating dry cleaning or specialty care when appropriate and keeping all laundry and wardrobe areas clean, orderly, and well stocked. The family employs a team of housekeepers so this position does not involve general or deep household cleaning. There are older children and pets in the home, though during the school year, there will typically be only three to four family members residing in the household full-time. The family’s primary residence is in Locust Valley, and the position will generally be live-out for most of the year. During the busier summer months, the family spends significant time in East Hampton and candidates should, ideally, be available to live on the property in a separate private cottage. Candidates who reside on Long Island and have a manageable commute to Locust Valley are strongly preferred. The general schedule is Monday through Friday, typically beginning at 9 a.m., with occasional Saturdays as needed.
