A formal household, the Upper East Side, needs to hire a formally trained full time Housekeeper/Laundress. Responsibilities include: meticulous housekeeping – caring for antiques and fragile furnishings, making beds, changing linens on a tri-weekly schedule, maintaining an inventory of personal and household supplies, including day-to-day basics and specialty items and replacing them in a timely manner, general maintenance of wardrobe (clothing, accessories, etc.), and performing seasonal wardrobe changeover, ironing/steaming of garments and household linens, responsible for travel packing needs, including gathering of personal items, folding, and packing of garments, etc., maintaining a clean kitchen and all appliances including stove top, ovens etc., shopping and household errands and greeting guests appropriately. There is considerable heavy lifting required on this position. All candidates must be comfortable working in a staffed home and with wearing a uniform (provided). Schedule is: Tuesday – Saturday 9am -5pm – with flexibility required. Salary range: $45-$50 an hour. Immediate start.
