A private, semi-formal family with grown children is seeking Summer Private Chef. This seasonal role has the potential, though not guarantee, of becoming a more permanent position. The schedule is Friday – Monday preparing lunch and dinner for 6 – 10 family members. The Chef will have the opportunity for creativity as the family eats a wide variety of cuisines: Mediterranean, Farm-to-Table, French, Mexican, Japanese, etc. Menus and dishes should be clean, healthy, and thoughtful. The Chef will plan and prepare everyday meals as well as for private parties. They will also shop all ingredients, maintain a pristine kitchen, track expenses, and coordinate with other staff. The position is based in Manhattan with travel to homes in Upstate, NY and the Hamptons. The Chef must drive and own their own vehicle to get between properties and provision ingredients (expenses reimbursed). Daily rate: $600 – $800/Day, DOE.
