A premier residential estate in Locust Valley, Long Island, needs to hire a skilled Caretaker / Grounds Person to join its Property Management team. The primary goal of this role is to maintain the beauty, functionality, and safety of the extensive property grounds, ensuring an exceptional environment for the principals, family, and guests. Responsibilities include: maintaining all exterior areas to the highest standards—including the pool area, terraces, driveways, landscaping, and outdoor furniture—while performing seasonal duties such as snow and ice removal and weather protection. The Caretaker will also be responsible for cleaning and maintaining equipment, machinery, and vehicles, performing basic repairs as needed, coordinating with vendors, assisting with special projects, and providing occasional driving support for the principals. All candidates must live locally, have a valid driver’s license, and possess reliable transportation. Applicants should have prior experience in a private, high-net-worth household or estate setting, demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, and be able to work discreetly and professionally as part of a team. Physical fitness is essential, given the hands-on nature of the position, and comfort around large dogs is required, as the family has three when in residence. Flexibility with tasks and scheduling is also a must. The typical schedule is Friday through Sunday, approximately 8–10 hours per day, with some flexibility required.
