A family of seven, in the Washington, D.C., needs to hire two Rotational Nanny/ Governesses to manage the childcare needs for five children. Responsibilities include: overseeing the junior childcare staff, helping parents and other staff navigating each child’s individual needs, planning & engaging the children in age-appropriate developmental activities, assisting with busy morning routines, school drop-off & pick-up, escorting the children to after school activities, preparing healthy meals & snacks, bath and bedtime routines and light children-related housekeeping & laundry needs. All candidates must drive, be able to travel internationally and domestically 1-2 weeks per year and be Covid vaccinated. Children range in age from infancy to elementary-age and the right applicant will have experience with multiple children within similar age ranges and be familiar with child psychology and understanding children’s independent needs, and developmental milestones. A second language is a huge plus for the family but not a requirement. The Nanny/Governess will never be expected to care for all five children at once, unless there are unforeseen circumstances. Family is flexible for a one- or two-week rotation on/ off and the typical work day will be about 12-13 hours with some down time when the youngest naps and four eldest are in school. Role is live in when working but living out when not, though the family is open to seeing applicants who may need local housing or transportation assistance. Salary range: 120-180K depending on experience, plus health insurance. Immediate start.
