A private sustainability-focused estate seeks a full-time, live-out Property Maintenance Caretaker to maintain both the exterior and interior of a home and adjacent guest house. The ideal candidate will have experience working ay historic properties and an interest in conserving its original character while guiding it towards a sustainable future. Successful candidates will have strong mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills and have experience managing renovation and construction projects. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: repairing doors, trim, baseboards, crown molding, cabinets, tiles, and decks; cleaning gutters; power washing exterior areas; and washing windows. This person will also handle minor plumbing and electrical issues and oversee licensed professionals for larger, more complex repairs. The Property Maintenance Caretaker will also be asked to assemble furniture and hang pictures and curtains. This is a largely self-directed role requiring prior extensive experience creating, maintaining, and updating property maintenance schedules. Qualified candidates will have excellent organization, communication, practical, and technical skills along with an eye for detail and standards of excellence. All duties are to be performed with safety, discretion, and professionalism. The schedule is Monday – Friday approximately 9AM – 5PM with reasonable flexibility.
