Couple in Westchester is seeking an experienced, personable, and dependable Private Chef. Day to day responsibilities include preparing lunch and dinner for the couple and lunch for two inside staff members. The Chef will plan menus, provision ingredients, execute meals and serve when needed. They will also maintain a pristine kitchen and workspace and maintain food and beverage inventories. Cuisine is healthy American, French, Italian, and a handful of other dishes from around the globe. No garlic is used in any food. Superior baking skills are a plus. The schedule is typically Monday – Friday 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM depending on whether or not the couple requires table service (usually they do 2 or 3 days per week). While the regular schedule is Monday- Friday, the Chef will be flexible to work weekend days when needed (no more than 10 Saturdays per year and never Sundays).
The couple has dinner guests (usually 4 total, occasionally 6) less than once per week and larger parties of 12 guests fewer than 10 times per year, always planned meticulously in advance. If required to work a Saturday, the Chef will have an alternative day off to compensate for their time. The role is based in Westchester; no travel! Compensation: $130K-$150K, depending on experience, plus health insurance, 3 weeks paid vacation, and a generous 401K offered after one year of employment.
