A family, with homes in Westchester County and the Hamptons, needs to hire a Private Chef who can live out in Westchester and live in the Hamptons. The Chef will be responsible for creating menus, shopping, and preparing multiple meals (lunch and dinner) to accommodate each family member’s dietary restrictions and preferences, including kosher, gluten-free, and non-kosher meals. While the family enjoys a variety of cuisines, their preferred style is French-influenced cooking. The Chef will also prepare meals for the staff daily. Most meals will be served family-style, though the Chef will occasionally be required to plate and serve dishes at the table. Additional staff will assist during larger parties. Beyond cooking, the Chef will be responsible for maintaining a clean kitchen and workspace. The role also requires the Chef to be generally available to assist in the home, including overseeing vendors related to issues with kitchen equipment. The Chef must work well with the existing staff and be able to work independently when needed. The schedule is typically 5 days a week, including working on Fridays and Saturdays year-round. Over the summer, day(s) off are during the week and a 6 day a week schedule is preferred. An en-suite bedroom in the staff house is provided. Salary range: $160,000 and $180,000, with an excellent benefits package. Immediate start.
