A family of seven, with homes on the Upper East Side and the Hamptons, needs to hire an experienced Private Chef to join their household staff. The Chef is responsible for the residences’ culinary, beverage and entertaining needs from menu planning to procuring ingredients to inventorying to kitchen cleanliness. Responsibilities include: Shopping for healthy, fresh, organic food supplies and stocking refrigerators, pantries and kitchen with required items, preparing healthy family style dinner as well as formal dinner parties (for up to 50 with additional added as needed), children parties, meeting snacks, cocktail receptions, business breakfast’s, lady’s luncheons etc. In the Hamptons – BBQs, pool parties etc. for family and guests in the busy summer season. Menus are planned alongside Mrs. and the House Manager. Household staff includes housekeepers and nannies and all staff work harmoniously to ensure the smooth running of the household. There is an additional property in California to which the Chef may occasionally be asked to travel to. Strong wine knowledge is a big +. The schedule in Manhattan is Sunday – Thursday, in the Hamptons Thursday – Monday (flexible hours in both locations). Salary range: $125k – $150k plus fully paid health insurance. September start.
