A family, in Fairfield County, Connecticut, needs to hire an experienced Domestic Couple to work collaboratively in the day-to-day care, organization, and operation of their home. Responsibilities include: maintaining the overall condition and presentation of the home, household shopping, provisioning & inventory, keeping spaces beautifully organized, assisting with events and guest preparation, light daily household upkeep, simple meal preparation, coordinating routine household maintenance and vendors, overseeing the property while the principals travel, and proactively identifying and addressing household needs. The couple will also share responsibility for the thoughtful care and preservation of antiques, natural-fiber textiles, fine furnishings, and other specialty household items and should be comfortable with the unique maintenance requirements of an older, historically significant property. The family employs a part-time housekeeping team, and the Domestic Couple should be comfortable working alongside and helping oversee additional household staff as needed. This position is best suited to a seasoned private service Couple with substantial experience working together in formal or high-end private residences. The ideal candidates will be highly organized, detail-oriented and genuinely hospitality/service-oriented, with excellent communication, interpersonal, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills. Both individuals should be comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively, taking ownership of their respective responsibilities while remaining flexible and willing to assist one another as household needs arise. Experience or professional training within a European-style household or formal service environment is strongly preferred. Candidates must be physically comfortable working throughout a large property, including bending, lifting, and safely using a ladder as needed. The schedule is Monday through Friday, approximately 8am to 4:30pm with flexibility for occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as household needs arise. Salary range: $160-200K with a possible health insurance contribution. Immediate start.
