Working parents, on the Upper East Side, need to hire an experienced and proactive full-time Nanny to care for their two children (toddler & early elementary-aged). Responsibilities include: providing attentive and developmentally appropriate care, planning engaging activities and outings, supporting developmental milestones, transporting the children to school, appointments, activities and playdates, managing their schedules, taking them to appointments, maintaining their belongings, keeping children’s areas organized, and traveling with the family. The ideal candidate will be organized, communicative, exercise excellent judgment, and be able to confidently navigate Manhattan. Both parents maintain demanding professional schedules and are looking for a true career Nanny who can confidently take ownership of the children’s day-to-day needs, anticipate what needs to be done, and manage their routines with minimal direction. Education or a child-development background is a plus (but not required), and the Nanny must have a valid driver’s license, be able to swim, and have a valid passport. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 7 PM, with flexibility in the summers to work a modified schedule so the Nanny can have adequate time off and time at home. For live-in applicants, a private studio apartment is available in the family’s building, with seven-day accommodations possible. Salary range: $35–40/hour base, depending on experience, plus a monthly health insurance contribution. Early September start.
