A family of four, on the Upper East Side,  needs to hire a talented Part-Time Chef or highly capable Family Cook to support their household with thoughtful, health-conscious meal preparation. Responsibilities include: planning and preparing a variety of nutritious, flavorful meals for the family, with an emphasis on lean proteins (fish, chicken), vegetarian dishes, pastas, and globally inspired cuisine. The family avoids pork products and would especially value someone with experience in a range of Asian cuisines. Additional duties include: grocery shopping, sourcing fresh ingredients, batch cooking for the week, and maintaining overall kitchen organization and cleanliness (a housekeeper handles deep cleaning). The role will also involve occasional cooking for small, informal dinner gatherings of up to 6–7 guests. Please note there is a shrimp allergy in the home, and candidates should be mindful of this. This is a lovely opportunity for an accomplished family cook or chef who enjoys working in a relaxed, appreciative home environment. The schedule is 10–12+ hours per week across 2–3 flexible days, with the family open to working with the right candidate to establish a consistent rhythm. Salary range: $40–$60/hour. Immediate start.
