A family of (soon-to-be) five on the Upper East Side, needs to hire a part-time Nanny to provide weekend coverage, with the potential to expand the schedule to three or even four days per week. Responsibilities include: engaging the children in fun and educational activities and working alongside hands-on parents as a supportive team member. Some days will involve more family time, while on others the nanny may plan and lead independent outings with the children. The children are also enrolled in various sports and activities, which the nanny will attend with them. Additional responsibilities include: children’s laundry, light housekeeping related to the children, and preparing their meals and snacks.
The family frequently spends time at a second residence in the country, so the nanny must be comfortable traveling and staying overnight (private bedroom and bathroom provided). The family will guarantee 16 hours a week, typically between 7am and 7pm on Saturday and Sunday but some flexibility is required. A valid driver’s license and swimming ability are required. The nanny must also be comfortable around dogs. A background in education or a related degree is strongly preferred. Salary $40 per hour. Immediate start.
