Divorced parents, on the Upper East Side, need to hire an educated and multilingual Nanny/ Governess to assist in the care of their two children (one teen and one pre-teen) and to further their academic and personal achievements. Responsibilities include: school pick up, transporting the children to afterschool activities & appointments, heavy homework help with some tutoring (particularly for the youngest), engaging in age-appropriate developmental games, extensive imaginary & active play with the youngest, handling full-charge care when parents are away, preparing snacks & meals for the children, child-related errands, and traveling with the family.
The ideal candidate will be well-educated (relevant degree or education experience a big plus), well-traveled with an appreciation for different cultures, polished, responsible & mature-minded, patient, active, well-spoken, have ABA and/ or OT experience (or worked with children who have required such care), and have prior, long-term, experience with excellent references. Must be multilingual, hold a valid passport and, ideally, also have a valid driver’s license. Flexibility is necessary for this role and while the family requires coverage from 2 to 6:30pm Monday to Friday, nanny/governess must assist every other weekend when Dad has custody, and have the ability to work late or stay over and work a full day when children are home from school, etc. Travel with the Dad is also expected – to upstate NY and Greenwich, CT.
