Candidate: PAV14395MA

Job Position: Governess, House Manager
Location: Manhattan

“I am a full-time career governess/house manager looking for a new family where I can serve and make a family’s life easier. It is difficult to express in a short letter the joy I have for children, to watch them grow, learn, and love. With guidance and attentiveness, children can blossom into who they are meant to be. My passion has been children since I started babysitting in the ninth grade.

I have been working with children for the past 20+ years. Both my graduate and undergraduate courses have been in the educational field. This instruction has been an incredible asset in my growth as a governess. My most recent experience provided me opportunity to teach toddlers full time in the home, in order for them to get a jump start to kindergarten. I have worked with children with disabilities as well as highly gifted children. I have worked in day care center (infants and toddlers), taught pre-school, elementary and middle school, high school courses, adult basic education courses, and college level competitive athletics. I have experience caring for children ranging in ages of two to seventeen. Having vast experience with different age groups, I believe this gives me an edge in understanding young children, as well as when they enter their teen years and into adulthood. It is my desire to help children grow into the best that they can be, and that path is different for each individual.

Experience in household management has also been my forte. I have a burning passion for organization, smooth fluidity to a house, checklists and punctuality, all with calm ease to quietly and seamlessly ensure a household is run well. My past employment in being a principal of a school and other administrative positions has given me experience with vendors, other staff relationships, and working toward a team goal. Being president of a home owner’s association for five years has also given me experience in vendor vetting, finance, and problem solving skills. Several positions have given me opportunity in the household to oversee home vendors and housekeeping, general errands, closet and pantry organization, car maintenance, heavy calendar tasks, dry cleaning services, grocery upkeep, beverage purchasing, household stocking of items, building of a family website, all while keeping financial reports in tip-top shape.

I am an excellent communicator and have enjoyed building lasting relationships with past and current families. I strive to positively motivate children, nurturing and encouraging each one to produce the best they can in every situation. I maintain a healthy balance of humor, high standards, and fun in all my positions. I offer complete flexibility with my schedule and can travel international and domestic for great lengths of time. I look forward to making a long term commitment to a family in need.”
