Working parents, on the Upper West Side, need to hire a highly experienced Newborn Care Specialist/Baby Nurse to join them beginning May 1, 2027, as they welcome their first child. Responsibilities include all aspects of newborn care: overnight care and feedings, diapering, bathing, bottle preparation and sterilization, cleaning baby-related items and toys, baby laundry, nursery organization and upkeep, monitoring sleep and feeding patterns, and maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked environment for the baby. The Newborn Care Specialist should have a strong understanding of developmental milestones, age-appropriate sleep and feeding routines, newborn health and safety, and what to anticipate throughout the first several months. As first-time parent they are seeking someone who can serve as both a collaborative partner and a trusted source of guidance, proactively communicating observations, offering thoughtful recommendations, and helping establish healthy routines as the baby grows and develops. The ideal candidate will be sweet, maternal, focused, nurturing, and highly confident in their expertise, with the ability to take the lead when appropriate while remaining respectful of the parents’ preferences and approach. They are ideally seeking someone with 10–15+ years of professional newborn experience. The family would especially value a candidate who has prior experience supporting families who have welcomed a child through surrogacy and/or adoption. Strong experience with formula feeding is also highly preferred. Current infant and child CPR and First Aid certification is required, and formal Newborn Care Specialist certification and/or related professional newborn training is a plus. NYC experience is a must, as is English language proficiency, and the ability to work in a home with a friendly dog. The family may also require occasional light domestic travel along the East Coast to visit relatives, so flexibility to travel is important. This is a live-in position, staring May 1st 2027, anticipated to last approximately three to four months, depending on the family’s needs, with a schedule of 20 hours per day, seven days per week, including a four-hour daily break. Salary range: $800-$1,000/day. The family is ready to begin interviewing immediately!
