Candidate EB holds extensive experience working with children in both private homes and classroom settings. She has taught K-2 in public schools (she is an elementary educator with two certifications in Teaching English to speakers of other languages grades k-12 and grades 1-6), served as a full-time nanny and private educator in NYC, and taught theater and gardening in a summer camp. Her experience as an elementary educator enabled her to build deep and valued trusted relationships, as well as execute and manage complex projects, create structures allowing measurable growth in performance, organize calendars, files, and reusable materials, manage time spent on tasks independently to ensure completion, collaborate with colleagues to analyze data and strategize next steps, and turn concepts and ideas into actionable plans which meet client needs and interests. As far as her childcare philosophy, she is a strong believer in child-led learning and gentle behavior management.
Letting children lead the way will foster independence, creativity, imagination, curiosity, and an internal motivation to accomplish tasks. EB received her Bachelor’s degree in linguistics and Master’s in TESOL. In addition, she is a creative individual who loves the arts, languages (fluent in Spanish and English, and conversational in French), gardening, and history. She is Covid vaccinated, travel ready, and she swims and drives. EB is looking for her next long term role and is seeking a position as a governess, nanny, and/or family assistant.
