Seeking an individual or couple for full time employment at a private 4,000-acre ranch in the heart of south-central Montana encompassing 2.5 miles of Yellowstone River frontage and focused on recreation and sustainability.   The expansive property has several properties including a primary residence, guest houses, recreation areas, and offices.  An agricultural tenant maintains a cow-calf operation on a portion of the ranch.  This picturesque property is used as an exclusive retreat for the family and invited guests.  It is a place to entertain as well as enjoy the grasslands, ponds, birds, and other wildlife.

The Ranch Manager will be responsible for the maintenance and management of the property, grounds, equipment, and facilities.  They will implement, and update as needed, an extensive property maintenance schedule, coordinate and supervise vendors, and facilitate with a wide range of projects that support conservation, local ecology, and diversity.  The Ranch Manager will also ensure the safety of the property by checking all mechanicals, removing debris from driveways/walkways/decks/paths, overseeing the work of service providers, preventing unlawful hunting, and implementing standard operating procedures.   Strong handyman/repair skills and experience using chainsaws, mending fences, driving large trucks, operating tractors, and running a mower.

While this is a hands-on management role, this person will also assist with family and guest services.  Duties could include an airport pick-up, coordinating a fishing excursion, or leading a hike.  We are seeking those with a true service-heart and desire to go above and beyond.   Prior private farm and/or ranch experience required.  Those with a genuine interest in preservation/conservation/sustainability/land stewardship strongly preferred.  Will consider a Domestic Couple if the other party is able to handle executive level housekeeping and hospitality services. The schedule is busy from approximately April through the end of September.  The winters are slower with more predictable hours.  Compensation (for an individual): $75K – $100K + discretionary bonus, 4 weeks of paid vacation, and separate accommodations.
