The couple be responsible for all aspects of household upkeep: deep cleaning, daily & seasonal organization, family laundry including linens, preparing the home for the principals’ & guest arrival, pet care for a friendly 40lbs dog, assisting with meal prep, running errands, occasional entertainment assistance/ serving, watering plants, handling upkeep of general outdoor areas such as the pool & tennis court, handling some outdoor maintenance, such as simple landscaping & gardening and basic handyman/ repair duties. There is a property manager who oversees the larger operations (including vendor management) and the couple must know how to take direction and work on a team, as well as operate in a self-sufficient manner, especially in the home. Applicants must know how to drive and ideally have their own vehicle. Family is in the residence sporadically, about 6 months of the year, so when they are there the load will be heavier and require more flexibility. The typical schedule when the principals are around will likely be between 9am and 9pm with two days off during the week and breaks midday. Accommodations provided are a large guest home down the road- while this will typically be private, there are occasions when a bedroom or two may be needed for overflow guests. Salary 150K. The House Manager (HM) will ensure the smooth operation of systems, services, and staff and act as the main point of contact for all related needs.  They will understand and clearly communicate the family’s preferences, goals, and expectations to staff and other team members.  A high level of organization is required to perform all duties.  The HM will create and update maintenance schedules, household manuals, protocols, and policies.  They will manage household calendars, coordinate vendors, negotiate and review contracts, track expenses, manage detailed inventories (e.g., wine, art, and collectibles), oversee special projects, packing and unpacking, and assist the team with pet care for the family’s dogs. The HM will coordinate with other managers, Family Office personnel, accountants, and third-party service providers. A willingness to be hands-on is necessary, as is fostering, promoting, and contributing to an atmosphere of mutual respect. The schedule is generally Monday – Friday, with flexibility to work weekends and holidays as requested.  Qualified candidates will ideally have a background in domestic service and have worked their way up from a housekeeping, houseman, or butler role to one of management.
